Projector security & other ways to protect AV equipment equipment
AV equipment used in classrooms and training
facilities (including the newest digital projectors and document
cameras) is just as vulnerable to theft and unauthorized use as
laptop and desktop PCs. Several strategies help you protect this
equipment and, at the same time, enhance the quality and
effectiveness of its use.
Traditional ceiling and desk mounts for
projectors can be an effective theft deterrent, especially if
the mounts are made with theft prevention in mind. Special
enclosures can be combined with heavy-duty security cables to
provide better protection for projectors.
Equipment
can also be protected with a reliable equipment theft alarm,
such as the Sonic Shock™. Most alarms have a high false alarm
rate or are little more than “toys.” But the Sonic Shock is the
most reliable and well built device of its kind.

When a projector or AV configuration is shared in more than one room or has to be moved around in a tight facility, you should use a special AV cart that combines access and security. A compact and well-designed media cart equipped with security features can deliver equipment set up and ready to use with functional, patented design. Two versions are available, the versatile Projector Presentation Cart (PPC) and an economical and compact
